Father’s Day is only 9 days away- so what do you get for your kids’ very own Superman? Or for your very own Superman, for that matter? If you want to treat dear ol’ dad right, and still be budget-savvy, here are a few more things to add to your list of options (See more ideas HERE & HERE):
Is dad a fan of Baseball, or maybe just likes a stadium dog more than life itself? Then take him out to the ballgame! There are some sweet B1G1 promotions at minor league teams all over the country! (See my post HERE)
- Throw in a $3 Subscription to ESPN (See HERE) & a $10 Nike Shirt or Cap (See HERE) - and you've got an AWESOME sports gift!
Sears is offering a “Spend $50 in Men’s Pants/Jeans, Get $50 in Sears Rewards Cash”. See my post all about it HERE. Split it up between your hubby and your dad even!
If your dad is the grilling type, then let him do what he loves best for Father’s Day- Grill. And for a present? A grill apron, of course! To make: buy a plain white apron (can often be found at a Dollar Store for $1) and paint your kids’ hands. Have them put handprints around the border of the apron, and in the middle write something like “King of the Grill” or “Fire Chief”.
- Then get him some awesome meat to bring tears of joy to his eyes with a Father's Day deal from Omaha Steaks (See my post HERE)
- In addition, you could help the kids throw together a homemade BBQ rub with kitchen ingredients- and put it in a manly shaker with a homemade label. Here’s one recipe, courtesy of www.bbqrecipesecrets.com:
- 8 tablespoons (120 mL) paprika
- 6 tablespoons (90 mL) garlic powder
- 6 tablespoons (90 mL) salt
- 5 tablespoons (75 mL) black pepper
- 3 tablespoons (45 mL) cayenne
- 3 tablespoons (45 mL) onion powder
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) dried thyme
Just combine the ingredients and store in a dry container or plastic bag.
