I like to stock up on these for free to make "Sorry-Charlie-Casserole". What is THAT, you ask?
When my brother and I were little, my mom would make tuna-casserole a lot during Lent (Fish was often too expensive for us). We didn't like the sound of it, so we complained the first few times. Mom always said "Sorry Charlie, that's what we're having!" and we ate it anyway. Eventually, when we asked what was for dinner, mom would just start telling us "It's Sorry Charlie Casserole!" A silly name made all the difference, so we ate it happily. If you're short on cash or ideas for a kid-friendly dinner, here's the very easy recipe:
"Sorry Charlie Casserole"
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
- 1 Can/Pouch of Tuna (in water)
- 1 Box of Macaroni & Cheese
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom
- A couple slices of Velveeta (optional)
Make Mac & Cheese as usual. Drain tuna and stir into completed mac & cheese. Stir in Cream of Mushroom Soup. Add a little extra milk if needed. (And my mom always added a couple sliced of Velveeta to "hide" the tuna from us! In my house, Velveeta = LOVE.)
LOVE Tuna! But the link keeps bringing it back to the same time2save page here!
ReplyDeleteTammy, it might be because it's a firefox link. It's working for me, maybe try using that browser?
