Target Price-Match UPDATE

**Despite all the good information below, it looks like Target is not going to budge on this "doorbuster" thing.  There are going to be lots of Holiday ads coming out, with lots of 1-Day or 2-Day deals, and as of now, Target managers are contending that they do NOT honor those ads (ignoring the fact that their policy doesn't mention it as an exclusion).  There is talk that they are rethinking their policy even....  so I guess the new rule of thumb, is not to try anything involving a 1 or 2-Day Supersale when it comes to price-matching.

Several of you had problems trying to price-match the Toys-R-Us Door Buster ad yesterday morning to get the 49¢ Leapfrog Alphabet Pal.  Here's what CommonSenseWithMoney pointed out from the Target Corporate Policy: 

Price matching will apply to current, local print ads for in-store products only. Our price-match policy is not applicable to or other online ads. The following is a full list of exclusions:
* or Online promotions
* Competitor’s Free Product
* GiftCards
* Limited quantity items
* Open box or damaged
* Clearance or closeout
* Mail-in offers
* Services (warranties, assembly, etc.)
* Bundle offers
* Special order
* Sales-tax promotions
* Liquidation/going out of business
* Special financing
* Coupons - *I assume this means they will not match competitor's coupon*
* Used or previously owned
* Display merchandise
* Pricing or typographical errors
* Club or loyalty

You should print this Here and take it with you whenever you plan to price-match.

In addition, Target was contacted regarding using a price match and a Target Coupon, and this summarizes Target's reply:
We do accept the manufacturer coupon and/or Target coupon to be used with the Low Price Promise Ad Match for a further price reduction.
